Tired Out

“God is awesome in his sanctuary. The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭68:35‬ ‭

Do you get tired?

Do you ever feel like giving up?

Of course you do. We’ve all been there.

If this is where you’re at right now, this day, then this verse is for you!

Because God is awesome in His sanctuary, you will have the strength you need today.

??

Just think that through.

God is awesome!

And not as in ‘totally gnarly, surfer dude’ like the turtles in ‘Finding Nemo’.

As in “extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension, or fear.”

If you and I could actually see God on His throne today, we’d be blown away. We’d be ‘awe-struck’.

(We’d actually be dead, because in our mortal body, His magnificence would completely overwhelm our physical limitations. That’s why we need new bodies when we get to heaven! But you get the point.)

God is AWESOME.

He lacks nothing. He owns everything. There is no resource in short supply, no rationing of love or mercy because it may run out during the pandemic. There are no worries, no surprises, because He knows everything. And the knowing everything never overwhelms or bothers Him! He can easily govern both the galaxies and the microbes with a thought – and at the same time!

He has power to spare – and He loves to share!

So let me ask again – do you get tired?

Do you ever feel like giving up?

GOD IS AWESOME IN HIS SANCTUARY.

And He wants to give you good gifts – power and strength to His people.

I can only think of one appropriate response.

Praise to God!

Ask for strength and power with me today?

Father, how AWESOME You are in Your sanctuary! We so easily forget Your magnificence and power and authority when it isn’t visibly before us. Thank You for who You are and the power that radiates from You! Give us the tools we need today to walk in Your ways, and conduct ourselves in a manner pleasing to You. Bless the work of our hands and give us strength when we are weak. Amen.

I am actually a bit of a mess. But in the mess, I’m finding security in knowing I am chosen, I am forgiven, and I matter. After uncovering a history of abuse in my past, I have done a lot of healing - and writing is one way I can invite you deeper into your own healing journey! I write devotionals about the complicated thing called life at growing-in-grace.ca, and my poetry is stashed at melodylowes.com. Pull up a chair and a coffee or tea and let's grow together!
