Live as People of Light

“For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭

She’s looking rather – brilliant, isn’t she?

Glowing, one might say. She’s got that something extra, that joie de vie, that sense of being lit from within.

It rather makes one’s breath catch in one’s throat to see her there in all her glory, just – being. Breathing. Reflecting the light.

Got that picture firmly planted?

Good – because she is you.

(Yes, you read that right. Don’t give me those excuses. Those, you can keep.)

When you are rescued from the kingdom of darkness and transferred to the kingdom of light, that faith plants you firmly in the path of rays of light every bit as bright, every bit as beautiful, every bit chock full of hope as this picture depicts.

Let your heart beat a little faster at that thought.

Let your dreams build a little. Let your desires rise up and date to blossom. You can live in the light, brilliant, shining, reflecting God’s gorgeous light wherever you go.

What would this one idea change in you if you really believed it? If you decided to walk out into the light that you already have by faith?

What would our world look like if more of us moved in this holy glow?

I don’t know about you, but my little corner of the world just got a bit brighter…

Learn to walk in the Light with me?

Father, how delightful it is that Your character is light! Thank You for sharing Your light with us, for calling us to a life in which we can spread and reflect Your light to others. Amen.

I am actually a bit of a mess. But in the mess, I’m finding security in knowing I am chosen, I am forgiven, and I matter. After uncovering a history of abuse in my past, I have done a lot of healing - and writing is one way I can invite you deeper into your own healing journey! I write devotionals about the complicated thing called life at growing-in-grace.ca, and my poetry is stashed at melodylowes.com. Pull up a chair and a coffee or tea and let's grow together!
