“He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.”
Philippians 3:21

Change.
It’s in the air.
It’s in the way the days are shrinking short. It’s in the smell of dust and grain warmed by the sun. It’s in the cooler temperatures, the evenings marked by a chill after warm lazy afternoons.
It’s written in the trees – messages dipped in gold and amber and scarlet and burnt orange. It’s stamped into the grasses, leaves too tired to hold on, dropping gracefully to the earth.
Change.
The breezes declare it. The calendar repeats it. The autumn solstice has come and gone.
And it’s glorious, this shift, this refrain singing us into fall and repeating the chorus of the ages.
It’s time. And oh, the glory!
And one day what has happened every autumn for millennia will echo in our own transformation into glory.
Imagine.
No more illness. No sore joints. No cancer, no diabetes, no arthritis, no chiropractors. Just beautiful, perfect bodies unhampered by our earthly imperfections. Mortal flesh transformed into immortal perfection.
All brought about by the power of God working in and through us.
What a promise.
What a hope!
And oh, the glory!
Friend, trust in God as you wait. The change is coming for all whose trust is placed in Jesus for salvation. And just as the seasons change in regular succession, just as green turns to gold and bronze and copper, our mortal flesh will be wrapped in something gorgeous.
Change.
Grow in joy and peace as you wait for the promise with me?
Father, thank You for the amazing promise that You will one day change our bodies and make us immortal like You! Help us to remember what we have to look forward to when we get frustrated with the limitations of our mortal flesh. Amen.
